Cassius Clay was born in Kentucky in 1942. Young Cassius began to box at a young age and later changed his name to Muhammad Ali, after converting to Islam. Ali won many boxing titles, including Golden Gloves in Kentucky and nationally. At the Summer Olympics of 1960, Muhammad Ali won the gold metal in the Light Heavyweight boxing.
